Exploded ammunition depot destroys homes | DW News

When a Russian attack hit a weapons storage site near Kyiv, ammunition stored inside exploded, destroying nearby homes and killing at least 38 people.

All the windows shattered in Liudmyla Polianychko's home nearby. Her yard was littered with debris, including bullets that were flung from the warehouse.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy blamed the closeness of the military storage site to civilian housing on official negligence and described storing weapons like this as a "crime."
