25 years after the September 11 attacks, the United States remembers the nearly 3,000 victims killed when Al Qaeda-hijacked planes struck New York, Washington and Pennsylvania. Ceremonies were held at Ground Zero, the Pentagon and Shanksville, with officials, first responders and families paying tribute.
