द्वितीय विश्व युद्ध में हार के बाद और नाजी शासन के खात्मे के साथ जर्मनी को एक नई शुरुआत करनी थी. तब एलाइड फोर्सेज यानी अमेरिका, ब्रिटेन, फ्रांस और सोवियत संघ आगे आए. ये वही समूह था जो दूसरे विश्न युद्ध में जर्मनी का मिलकर मुकाबला कर रहा था लेकिन अब इन्होंने ही जर्मनी को नाजी अतीत से बाहर निकालने की जिम्मेदारी उठाई. लेकिन जर्मनी को चार हिस्सों में बांट कर. हर हिस्से ने जर्मनी को फिर से खड़ा करने के लिए अपने नियम कायदे बनाए थे. इस बीच जर्मन आबादी भी पुरानी बातों को भूलकर आगे बढ़ना चाहती थी.

After Germany's defeat in the Second World War and the collapse of Nazi rule, the country faced the challenge of making a fresh start. These were the same nations that had fought together against Germany during the war, but they now took on the responsibility of taking Germany move beyond its Nazi past. However, they did so by dividing Germany into four parts. Each power established its own rules and policies to rebuild and reorganize its respective section of the country. Meanwhile, much of the German population wanted to leave the past behind and focus on rebuilding their lives and moving forward.
