CommSec’s James Gruber says oil prices have risen above $US100 a barrel after tit-for-tat strikes between the United States and Iran.
“That follows falls on Wall Street, with the S&P 500 down 0.5 per cent and the Nasdaq losing 0.6 per cent,” Mr Gruber told News 24.
“It was down to two things: higher oil prices as well as high US government bond yields.
“On those oil prices, they finished up more than three per cent – above $US101 a barrel after tit-for-tat strikes between the US and Iran overnight.”
