[2026 APEC Population Policy Forum]
On August 24, 2026, MOFA hosted the 2026 APEC Population Policy Forum in Dalian, China, held on the margins of APEC's 3rd Senior Officials' Meeting.
This forum is a follow-up measure based on the APEC Collaborative Framework for Demographic Changes, a leaders-level document adopted at the 2025 APEC Economic Leaders' Meeting in Gyeongju.
Under the theme "Harnessing Technology for Demographic Change," the forum gathered APEC officials, international organizations, and experts to explore how technology can turn demographic change from a challenge into an opportunity.
The APEC Troika - Korea, China, and Vietnam - all took part through this forum, marking a meaningful first step in implementing last year's framework.
Participants noted that the forum was a valuable chance to come together as APEC members and explore fresh perspectives on demographic change.
MOFA will continue to lead the population agenda within APEC, expanding the forum's scope going forward.
