Supreme Court Makes SHOCK MOVE as Trump RUNS SCARED of ELECTIONS!!!

Attorneys Brian Kabateck and Shant Karnikian cover the Supreme Court's 6-3 shadow docket ruling in Trump v. California, letting the administration move forward with its executive order giving the Department of Homeland Security and the Postal Service unprecedented control over mail-in ballots ahead of the midterms. Brian breaks the order into three pieces the majority treated as legally separate: DHS building state-by-state citizenship lists, the Attorney General being directed to prioritize prosecuting local election officials who send ballots to people on those lists, and the Postal Service refusing to deliver ballots to voters not verified through its new portal, complete with new required envelope designs. Shant argues the Court's compartmentalization is illogical, since combined, the three pieces functionally let the federal government dictate who gets a ballot despite the Constitution assigning that authority to the states. Brian highlights the double standard in the ruling: the states' harm was deemed too speculative to establish standing, while the administration's harm from a delayed rollout was urgent enough to justify emergency relief. Justice Jackson's dissent argued the order violates Article I's Elections Clause outright. Shant's bottom line: even Texas admits these citizenship lists contain errors, meaning eligible voters could be turned away from mail voting before anyone gets a real chance to challenge the policy on the merits.
