Belize: Inside One of the World’s Most Isolated Communities

Deep in Belize, a traditional Mennonite community lives according to strict religious rules, largely separated from modern society. Cars, television, computers and even mobile phones are rejected, while children leave school at 13 and families preserve traditions passed down for generations.
But modern life is getting harder to avoid. While some quietly embrace phones and music, others choose an even more radical path: leaving Belize behind to build a new community deep in the Peruvian Amazon. This documentary follows their extraordinary journey as they sell their possessions, leave everything familiar behind and attempt to start again from nothing.
