Ray Jayawardhana on Becoming Caltech's 10th President

Ray Jayawardhana began his term as Caltech's president on July 1, 2026.

"I couldn’t be more excited to join Caltech, to be part of a community that’s pushing at the edges of what’s possible," Jayawardhana said. "The Institute convenes exceptional people from across America and across the globe to work together, to learn from each other, in a shared endeavor to expand the frontiers of what we know, what we can imagine, and ultimately what we can accomplish together."
