In early morning bicycle rides through London, filmmaker Johno Verity discovers that learning your city's hidden history transforms how you see it, and how you see yourself. Johno Verity is a London-based content creator, filmmaker, and urban historian known for uncovering and sharing the hidden history of cities through cycling and storytelling. Often described as “London’s cycling historian,” he explores London in the early hours of the morning, revealing the social, architectural, and historical stories embedded in familiar streets, bridges, and public spaces.
Through short-form videos and visual storytelling, Johno has built a large and engaged audience by making history accessible, informal, and deeply connected to everyday life. His work has been featured by Cycling Weekly and the BBC, where he has been recognized for presenting history in a way that is both engaging and relatable.
Before turning his focus to urban history, Johno worked as a professional skier and filmmaker, experiences that continue to shape his visual and narrative style. His work today sits at the intersection of curiosity, creativity, and wellbeing, encouraging people to slow down, observe, and reconnect with the places they inhabit.
