Yemeni government forces, backed by a Saudi-led coalition, launched a counteroffensive Monday against Houthi positions overlooking the strategic Bab al-Mandab Strait. The operation seeks to reverse the group's recent gains around a vital maritime chokepoint.
The counteroffensive came a day after the Houthis, also called Ansar Allah, said they had launched ballistic missiles and drones at two Aramco facilities in Saudi Arabia.
The escalation threatens to entangle conflicts across the Middle East, including the US-Israeli war with Iran. #FrontlineStories
