Caltech Convocation 2026

This year's program includes remarks from Vice President for Student Affairs and Faculty Dean of Students Kevin Gilmartin and a welcome from President Ray Jayawardhana, along with a keynote address from Tammy Ma (BS '05), Deputy Principal Associate Director for Science & Technology at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory's National Ignition Facility & Photon Sciences and a member of the team behind the historic 2022 fusion ignition breakthrough at the National Ignition Facility. The discussion explores the pursuit of ambitious scientific goals, as well as the opportunities and challenges that come with tackling some of the world's most complex problems.
