Can an Apple Watch actually replace your iPhone?

Could you actually leave your iPhone at home and use only an Apple Watch for the day?

In this video, we put that idea to the test. From making calls and sending messages to paying for ice cream with Apple Pay, navigating around, and handling the little things your phone normally does without you thinking about it. Today we find out what it’s really like to go no phone with just an Apple Watch.

The watch we’re using is mounted in a custom 3D-printed Apple Watch phone-style case, turning it into a tiny handheld device instead of something that stays on your wrist. It’s a fun experiment, but it also raises a real question: can the Apple Watch actually replace an iPhone, or is it still just a really capable companion device?

Watch until the end to see what worked, what didn’t, and whether we would actually do this again.
