How's It Goin’

Railroad rails - prairie plains
Endangered forests - Vancouver rain
St. Lawrence seaway - winter snow
Capilano bridge where the salmon go
Dinosaur Badlands - excavation
Pipeline protests - diverse population
Lake Louise - postcard scene
Bay street suits - davie street queens

If you cross these tracks and are trying to meet
People on these northern streets
It ain’t no secret - you can hold your own
Simply say - how's it goin’

CN Tower - rigs in the fog
Banff’s blue water - 401 slog
Whistler slopes - old Quebec stone
Tofino surfers - Kingston’s own
Parliament Hill - truckers might
Stampede dust - kin’ rights
No loonies or cash - just tap the phone
It’s too cold outside - we’re stayin’ home

If you’re wondering how to start your day
And greet a local along the way
Forget the formal - no to and fro-ing
Just nod your head and say:
How's it goin’

Yukon skies - buddy of mine knows ya
Bruce Peninsula - it just shows to go ya
Maritime provinces - side by each
Stanley park harbour - east coast screech
the heavy cost of living - right across the nation
Fuel tax levies - indigenous reconciliation
The housing market is literally a joke
An oversized puffer, local marijuana smoke

Back in Montreal they say salut!
That’s a lot better than saying - hey you!
And you’ll never feel like you’re on your own
Just smile and say
How’s it goin’
How’s it goin’
