AI에 생각을 맡길수록 편해질 수 있지만, 그만큼 스스로 고민하고 기억하고 판단하는 힘은 약해질 수 있다.

그래서 AI 시대에 책을 읽어야 하는 이유는 단순하다. AI의 답을 얻기 위해서가 아니라, 그 답 앞에서 ‘나는 무엇을 생각하는가’를 잃지 않기 위해서다.

Reading, then, is not simply about gaining information. It is about sinking into the inner spaces that AI’s answers cannot reach.

The more we hand our thinking over to AI, the more convenient life may become—but our ability to think, remember, and judge for ourselves may grow weaker.

So why should we read in the age of AI? The answer is simple: not to find AI’s answers, but to make sure we never lose the question, “What do I think?”
