What is needed to educate the child for a different tomorrow?
Isha Jauhar challenges the way that education is perceived, in her TEDx JIM Indore speech, in an effort to think out of the box and examine learning beyond the classroom, beyond the exam and beyond the definition of success.
It encourages reflection on the need to allow children to explore their potential, expand their scope and envision what is possible.
Insightful discussion of education, opportunity and how learning prepares the youth to enter into the world and become part of it.
What children have been learning, I suppose, is the question to ask, but what they want to become is the question I should ask. Isha Jauhar is a social impact professional and Programme Lead at Pathshala, where she works on initiatives focused on education, youth development, and community-led change. She is associated with TYCIA Foundation and has contributed to programmes that support grassroots leadership, entrepreneurship, and opportunities for young people and communities.
Her work is driven by a belief in the power of education and local leadership to create sustainable social change. Through her experience in programme development and community engagement, Isha works to build initiatives that enable individuals and communities to become active participants in their own growth and development. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
