Luoyang Palace of the Sui and Tang dynasties shone brightly on Friday evening as it hosted a majestic Chinese-style welcome ceremony for guests attending the 2026 Global Mayors Dialogue.
From a traditional entry ritual to ancient music and dance performance, the event wove heritage protection into modern urban development. With 5,000 years of uninterrupted civilization, Luoyang, in central China's Henan Province, shows the world how an ancient capital can preserve its cultural roots while advancing high-quality urban growth.
