US President Donald Trump has ordered flags to be flown at half-staff for a week following the death of country singer and icon Dolly Parton.
On Tuesday, it was announced Parton died peacefully at the age of 80 in Nashville, Tennessee.
The singer and philanthropist’s publicity team released a statement following her death, honouring Parton’s “kindness” and “warmth”.
“A rhinestone life that shone bright enough for the world to see, Dolly will forever stand as an inspiration not only through her timeless music and prolific songwriting, but also her wit, warmth, and kindness that made us all feel like family,” a statement from True Public Relations read.
