Just outside Gwangju, Damyang is a charming destination where bamboo is at the heart of almost everything! From wandering through a peaceful bamboo forest to eating rice cooked inside bamboo, this little corner of Korea is full of unique experiences, beautiful scenery, and unexpected discoveries.
Join us as we explore Damyang, trying all kinds of bamboo-inspired foods, browsing secondhand shops, enjoying a delicious meal outdoors beside a beautiful river, walking along tree-lined Metasequoia roads, and discovering a hidden pavilion tucked away in the countryside.
One of my favourite things about Damyang is how the whole town embraces its bamboo heritage. It makes this place feel completely different from anywhere else we’ve visited in Korea!
