Five-year-old Tate has sanfilippo syndrome, which is a severe, neurodegenerative disease which causes the gradual loss of abilities, such as walking and eating. Due to its degenerative nature, it's often referred to as childhood dementia, or childhood Alzheimer's.
Tate's mum Tammy is trying to raise enough money to get Tate to the US for the treatment he needs.
