The Long March also brought the Red Army into contact with local Bouyei communities, leaving behind stories of connection and trust.
Today, Bouyei artisans continue a traditional form of wax-resist dyeing, applying wax to cloth before dyeing it indigo blue to reveal intricate patterns. Water leaves its mark on the mountains, and generations of artisans leave theirs on cloth - keeping a distinctive cultural tradition alive.
