💬 숲으로 이어지던 능선 끝에 거친 바위 봉우리가 모습을 드러냅니다.
이곳은 천성산 제2봉, 비로봉입니다.
천성산은 예부터 원적산이라 불렸고, 경치가 빼어나 '소금강산'이라 불리기도 했습니다.
원효대사가 이 산에서 천 명의 스님에게 화엄경을 설해 모두 성인이 되었다는 전설에서 '천성산'이라는 이름이 전해집니다.
부드러운 능선과는 전혀 다른 거친 바위의 정상입니다.
옛 정상 자리에는 태극기 문양이 그 흔적처럼 남아 있습니다.

[ At Birobong Peak, Cheonseongsan ] [260930]
💬 At the end of the forested ridge, a rugged rocky peak comes into view.
This is Birobong, the second peak of Cheonseongsan Mountain.
Cheonseongsan was once known as Wonjeoksan, and because of its beautiful scenery, it was also called “Sogeumgangsan,” meaning “Little Geumgangsan.”
According to legend, the name “Cheonseongsan” comes from the story of the Buddhist monk Wonhyo, who is said to have taught the Avatamsaka Sutra to a thousand monks here, all of whom attained enlightenment.
Unlike the gentle ridgelines surrounding it, the summit is rugged and rocky.
At the former summit site, a Taegeuk symbol remains like a trace of the past.
