NJ Makes Data Center Pay

I never thought I’d say this, but New Jersey’s kinda goated for this one.
The tiny, toxic armpit of New York City has decided it’s had enough of companies using it as a dumping spot for their AI generation computers.
They’ve now charged a Microsoft-tied data center over a million dollars in fines for running unsanctioned gas generators that are used to make up for the lack of power on the state grid.
The amount of money is basically meaningless, but it’s also coupled with a shutdown notice if the proper permits aren’t acquired for the generators, giving them a month and a half to get that done.
