Graphics card thieves stole a truckload of SAND instead of computer hardware
40 tons of the beach stuff was hiding in two giant trailers with “NVIDIA” written all over the sides - which attracted the attention of a group of wanna-be heisters
The sand was being lugged around to simulate ACTUAL cargo-loads that’d be hauled in the future, and was the result of a partnership between Nvidia and an AI self-driving truck company - so they needed the actual weight of the would-be products to occupy the test vehicles to see how the AI’d react to different road conditions
The thieves likely noticed unoccupied trucks with what looked like potentially hundreds of expensive components inside and jumped on the opportunity to commit crime just to find a bunch of unassembled sandcastles
