‘Breathtaking arrogance’: Albanese government congratulates itself as Australians struggle

News24 host Jaimee Rogers slams the Albanese government for praising its economic management despite repeated interest rate rises and a 26 per cent increase in the cost of living for working Australian households since Labor came to office.

“The Albanese government's latest display of breathtaking arrogance might just take the cake,” Ms Rogers said.

“After five interest rate rises this year and 17 since 2022. The government thinks it deserves a pat on the back for its economic management.

“Australians aren't interested in how hard you think you're working. They're interested in whether they can afford to live, and right now, millions are struggling. They're working harder, cutting back and making sacrifices, and still going backwards.

“It's an extraordinary display of political tone-deafness. Especially since the cost of living for working Australian households has risen more than 26 per cent since Labor came to office.”
