Forecaster shifts 19 more House races away from GOP

Elections forecasting agency The Cook Political Report moved 19 House races toward the Democrats in an update this morning that said the chances of a Republican House majority “have all but evaporated.” The elections forecaster said Democrats are now expected to flip between 12 and 22 seats in the House.
“Several of these ratings changes — particularly in Texas and North Carolina — are tied to Republicans’ underperformance at the top of the ticket and the resulting delta between Republican and Democratic voter enthusiasm statewide,” The Cook Political Report said. The forecaster moved six races from “toss up” to “lean Democrat” and two races from “lean Republican” to “toss up.”
