What can riding a motorcycle through some of the world’s most challenging terrain teach us about facing the unexpected?
Travel film producer Theodosis Dallas shares stories from motorcycle expeditions across Morocco, the Himalayas and the Amazon, where accidents, extreme weather and disrupted plans repeatedly forced him and his team to adapt. Through these experiences, he discovered a lesson that extends far beyond riding: when an obstacle appears, freezing can make it harder to overcome, while staying in motion can help reveal a way through.
But moving does not always mean moving forward. Sometimes it means changing direction, improvising or letting go of the original plan altogether. For Theodosis, resilience is not about having everything under control. It is about continuing to respond, adapt and move because, on a motorcycle and in life, balance is often found in motion.
Theodosis Dallas is a travel film producer and the creator of Greek Adventure Riders. A graduate in Nursing from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, he worked for two years in the Intensive Care Unit at Papageorgiou Hospital in Thessaloniki. He then worked for three years in Intensive Care Units in Manchester and Liverpool, UK, while pursuing postgraduate studies in Health Unit Management at Manchester Metropolitan University.
In 2019, he founded Greek Adventure Riders and since 2022, he has dedicated himself exclusively to producing travel films and adventure content.
For him, Rhoē is continuous movement. Exploring, learning, and sharing stories that ignite the imagination and awaken the desire for adventure. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
