An outstanding start to the new Bundesliga season! FC Bayern claimed a 5-1 (1-0) victory over VfB Stuttgart in Friday evening's opening match at the Allianz Arena. In a high-quality, intense and hard-fought encounter, Dayot Upamecano (21st minute) gave Bayern the lead. After Josha Vagnoman equalised for Stuttgart (52'), the Munich side struck twice within just two minutes through Michael Olise (55') and a Vagnoman own goal (57') to make it 3-1. In the closing stages, Aleksandar Pavlović (82') and Luis Díaz (90+2') added further goals to seal an emphatic 5-1 win.

Captain Manuel Neuer made his 600th competitive appearance for FC Bayern against Stuttgart.
