When a K-pop concert was organized in Istanbul, Türkiye, the local response was explosive.
But Azerbaijani fans asked,
"Why didn't you do it in our country?"
The organizer behind it all is none other than Seoul Honorary Citizen, Rahil Ahmadova.
A decade in Seoul: Rahil's story
One night during her days studying abroad in Korea, she cried herself to sleep on an empty stomach because she couldn't even order fried chicken 😢
After that night, Rahil steeled her resolve:
"How can I study here when I can't even order chicken?"
By translating Korean children's books into Azerbaijani and Azerbaijani children's books into Korean, she taught herself the language for a year and eventually even completed her university thesis in Korean.
