This footage captures Japan’s annual "National Police Motorcycle Safe Driving Competition." Elite motor officers selected from across the nation gather here, putting their regional pride on the line in a pure test of skill and limits.

Don't let the name "Safe Driving" fool you—the reality of this course is brutal. While it’s a high-speed time trial, it operates under an unforgiving, zero-tolerance rule: if any part of the bike (including the bank sensors and footpegs) touches the asphalt even once, or if a rider even grazes a rubber marker or pylon, it's an instant penalty.

Riders must execute a completely flawless "zero-touch" run while posting the fastest possible time. This structural handicap is what fundamentally separates this competition from standard motorcycle gymkhana. Furthermore, before two of the narrowest turns, they are required to come to a complete dead stop and physically turn their heads to perform a rear safety check.

If the front tire crosses the stop line by even a single centimeter, that’s another penalty. Even in punishing, torrential wet conditions, these strict rules never bend.

The machine is a Honda CB1300P ("P" stands for Police). For safety reasons during the competition, the dashboard, measuring instruments, and mirrors are removed. However, to simulate actual duty, the bike remains fully loaded with official police panniers and heavy crash bars, bringing the total weight to a massive 300kg (660 lbs).
