Democratic infighting in Michigan exploded after Haley Stevens stunned her party by endorsing Republican Senate hopeful Mike Rogers.
Stevens broke with nominee Abdul El-Sayed just two days before Election Day, saying she no longer felt welcome in his campaign.
The dramatic defection came after months of bitter clashes between the pair over Israel, antisemitism claims and campaign rhetoric.
Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer blasted the move as a “despicable betrayal” and reaffirmed support for El-Sayed.
Trump quickly praised Stevens for showing what he called “great and almost unprecedented loyalty” to the people of Michigan.
The endorsement triggered fresh fallout inside the party, with Stevens’ staff resigning after the cross-party bombshell.
