10 Rock Bands That Fell Apart at the Worst Possible Time

Some bands quit just when things were getting good... Join us as we count down our picks for the rock bands that called it quits at the absolute worst possible time! Our countdown includes The Police, The Jam, Cream, The Stone Roses, Simon & Garfunkel, The Verve, and more! From The Smiths splitting just as "Strangeways, Here We Come" peaked commercially, to At the Drive-In going on hiatus right after "Relationship of Command" nearly broke them into the mainstream, to Cream dissolving just as their music reached its most ambitious heights — these bands left us all wondering what could have been. Which breakup hit you the hardest? Let us know in the comments below!
