[신안]UN최우수관광마을이 한국에 The best tourist town of the United Nations is in Korea. Shinan Purple Island

(퍼플섬)
전라남도 신안군 안좌도 섬 속의 섬인 반월도와 박지도를 보라색으로 컬러마케팅하여 관광지가 된 섬이다. 전라남도가 2015년에 각 섬의 문화와 유산, 천혜의 자연 경관을 브랜드로 만드는 '가고 싶은 섬' 가꾸기 사업을 시작하였다. 목표는 섬의 생태자원을 보존 재생하고 문화를 발굴하여 가꾸는 사업으로 2024년에 마무리하였다. 반월도, 박지도는 섬에서 흔하게 볼 수 있는 도라지, 콜라비, 꿀풀의 보라꽃들이 많아 그 보라빛에 착안하여 사계절 보라색 꽃이 피는 섬을 컨셉으로 정하였다.

섬 전체를 대상으로 컬러마케팅 한 것은 퍼플섬이 대한민국 최초의 사례이다. 이후 주민의 생활 전반에 걸쳐 보라색이 자연스럽게 스며들었다. 반월도와 박지도와 안좌도를 잇는 보행교를 정비하고 보라색으로 칠하여 퍼플교라 개칭하였다. 섬 곳곳에 보라색 꽃이 피는 수목을 식재하고, 마을 지붕, 창고, 사람의 옷차림, 식기 및 커피잔까지 보라색으로 채색하였다.

다른 축제와는 달리 1년에 3차례 보라꽃 축제를 하고 있다.

방문객들은 반월도와 박지도를 '보라섬', '퍼플섬'이라는 애칭으로 불렀으며 2020년 8월 12일, 신안군은 안좌면 반월도 박지도를 퍼플섬으로 선포하였다.
퍼플섬은 코로나 시기임에도 불구하고 오히여 방문객이 증가하기도 하였다.

(Purple Island)
Banwoldo Island and Park Ji-do Island, which are islands in Anjwa Island, Sinan-gun, Jeollanam-do, have become tourist destinations by color marketing them in purple. In 2015, South Jeolla Province launched a project to cultivate the 'island you want to visit' under the brand name of the culture, heritage, and natural scenery of each island. The goal was to preserve and regenerate the island's ecological resources and discover and nurture its culture. Banwoldo Island and Park Ji-do Island have many purple flowers that are common on the island, so the concept of an island with purple flowers in all four seasons is based on the purple color.

Purple Island is the first example of color marketing for the entire island in Korea. Since then, purple has naturally permeated throughout the lives of the residents. The pedestrian bridge connecting Banwol-do, Park Ji-do, and Anjwa-do was renovated and painted purple, and it was renamed Purple Bridge. Purple-flowering trees were planted throughout the island, and the roof of the village, warehouses, people's clothes, utensils, and coffee cups were painted purple.

Unlike other festivals, purple flower festivals are held three times a year.
1st: Rabenda Festival in May, 2nd: Willow Magpiecho Festival in June, 3rd: Asta Chrysanthemum Festival in October

Visitors nicknamed Banwoldo and Park Ji-do as "Bora Island" and "Purple Island," and on August 12, 2020, Sinan-gun declared Banwoldo Park Ji-do, Anjwa-myeon as Purple Island.
Despite the COVID-19 period, the number of visitors to Purple Island also increased.
