Ebola outbreak in DR Congo outpaces efforts to contain it | DW News

Health agencies are struggling to contain a rapidly growing outbreak of the Bundibugyo strain of Ebola in the Democratic Republic of Congo. Response efforts are being hindered by fear and mistrust among local communities, including attacks on health workers and ambulances. Officials say there is currently no approved vaccine for this strain, leaving isolation and supportive care as the main tools to limit infections. Aid groups warn the outbreak is spreading faster than previous Ebola crises, while experts also fear cross-border transmission to neighboring countries. #ebola #drc #disease #dwcurrentaffairs
