China National Day in Shanghai: 2 cruise ships dock, night fireworks & peak inbound/outbound travel

A major travel surge kicked off at the Shanghai Wusongkou International Cruise Terminal on Thursday, marking the first day of China's weeklong National Day "Golden Week" holiday.
The terminal welcomed nearly 10,000 inbound passengers as the cruise liners Adora Magic City and Spectrum of the Seas docked concurrently.
Many arriving international tourists plan to use Shanghai as a springboard for extended itineraries across China.
As night fell, a massive drone and fireworks show illuminated the skies over Wusongkou. A fleet of 2,000 drones formed a massive outdoor canopy, bringing to life the iconic character Nezha from the classic Chinese animation Nezha Conquers the Dragon King.
The National Day holiday, which commemorates the founding of the People's Republic of China, runs from October 1 to October 7.
