2026년에 결성된 밴드 Funky Monday는 보컬 Jiyeon, 건반 Allofingroove, 베이스 Jimmy.J. Shin, 드럼 손주원, 엔지니어·보컬 정민규로 구성된 5인 밴드입니다.
재즈와 펑크를 기반으로 한 퓨전 음악을 다루며, Funky Monday만의 음악적 자유로움과 색깔을 표현하고자 합니다. 각기 다른 장르와 음악적 배경을 가진 멤버들이 모여 서로 다른 색깔과 그루브를 공유하고, 이를 하나의 음악으로 재해석하여 Funky Monday만의 독특한 사운드와 색깔로 풀어내고 있습니다. 멤버들이 함께 곡을 만들고 편곡하며, 각자의 아이디어와 연주를 적극적으로 반영해 음악을 완성해 나갑니다. 또한 실제 밴드의 호흡과 에너지를 담아내기 위해 라이브 연주를 중심으로 녹음하며, 이를 통해 보다 생동감 있고 자유로운 사운드를 만들어가고 있습니다.

Funky Monday의 첫 번째 싱글 [Outlaw]는 Jazz와 Funk를 기반으로 다양한 사운드와 그루브를 담아낸 곡이다.

[Outlaw]는 틀에 박힌 규칙과 억압 속에서 벗어나 자유를 찾아 나서고 싶은 마음을 은유적으로 표현한 곡이다. 정해진 규칙에 갇혀 자유로움과 자신의 정체성마저 잃어가는 공간에서 벗어나 더 넓은 세상을 마주하고, 그 속에서 자신만의 길을 찾아가는 이야기를 담았다.

Funky Monday는 [Outlaw]를 통해 틀에 갇힌 일상에서 벗어나 새로운 세상으로 향하는 순간과 그 과정에서 마주하는 자유를 음악으로 풀어낸다.

Formed in 2026, Funky Monday is a five-player band consisting of vocalist Jiyeon, keyboardist Allofingroove, bassist Jimmy J. Shin, drummer Juwon Son, and engineer/vocalist Minkyu Jeong.
Rooted in jazz and funk, Funky Monday explores fusion music with a strong sense of freedom and individuality. Bringing members from different musical backgrounds and genres, the band shares and blends their distinct musical colors and grooves, transforming them into a unique sound.
The members collaborate closely on songwriting and arranging, incorporating each member’s ideas and musicianship into the creative process. To capture the chemistry and energy of the band, Funky Monday focuses on live-oriented recording, creating a dynamic and organic sound that reflects the freedom of their performances.

Funky Monday’s first single, [Outlaw], is a track built around Jazz and Funk, blending a diverse range of sounds and grooves.

[Outlaw] metaphorically expresses the desire to break free from rigid rules and oppression and find a sense of freedom. It tells the story of escaping a place where one feels trapped by expectations, gradually losing their freedom and even their own identity, and stepping into a wider world in search of their own path.

Through [Outlaw], Funky Monday explores the moment of breaking away from a confined routine and facing a new world, expressing the freedom found along the journey through music.
