Men's mental health | DW Documentary

Mental health struggles can be hard to spot, especially among men in workplaces where strength is often associated with staying silent.

In Ireland, around one in eight male construction workers is affected by depression, and men are almost four times more likely than women to die by suicide. In Germany, the suicide rate is three times higher for men than for women.

The CAIRDE initiative in Ireland aims to encourage men working in construction to recognize early warning signs, talk openly about mental health issues, and support one another before a crisis develops.
