On-site in Gyirong: Rescuers race against time as road access restored

Road access to mudslide-hit Gyirong Port in southwest China's Xizang was basically restored Wednesday morning, opening the way for more rescuers, machinery and relief supplies to enter the disaster zone. Twenty-one people have been confirmed dead and 541 others remain missing as of Wednesday noon.

With access improving, the rescue operation continues as rescuers race against time to search for hundreds of people still missing. (recorded)
