What we're missing while we wait for life to get exciting | Yimin Yang | TEDxWest Vancouver Youth

We spend most of our lives waiting — for the weekend, the result, the moment worth posting — while the ordinary days quietly slip past unnoticed. Yimin makes a case for the everyday moments: the unremarkable Tuesdays, the unscripted evenings, the experiences we treat as filler between the highlights. He argues that the life we keep waiting to start is already happening, and that learning to notice it, and relish it, is the most important thing any of us can practice right now.
Yimin is a 15-year-old student who is an accomplished musician playing both piano and violin. A committed multi-sport athlete, he plays competitive basketball as a point guard and is also a certified referee, scorekeeper, and coach. He also serves as the Vancouver District Representative on the student council. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community.
