Oily skin isn't necessarily hydrated skin. If it's dry underneath, it produces more oil to compensate, so you still need moisturizer, just a lighter one. The point of all of this is keeping your skin barrier intact. A damaged barrier is why products sting, why you're reactive, and why you break out. Moisturizer is maintenance, not luxury. Drinking water matters, but sealing moisture into your skin is a separate job.
