43년이라는 시간은
참 길고도 깊은 시간인 것 같습니다.

초등학교 3학년 때 만나
지금까지 한결같이
곁을 지켜준 친구가 있습니다.

기쁠 때보다
제가 어려울 때마다
먼저 손을 내밀어 주었던
참 고마운 친구입니다.

그런 친구가 오늘
제가 다니는 양원성당까지 찾아와
저를 만나주었습니다.

성당 이곳저곳을 함께 둘러보고,
제가 새롭게 시작한 신앙생활을
따뜻하게 응원해 주었습니다.

성당 근처의 닭한마리집에서
맛있는 음식도 함께 나누고,
시원한 음료와 커피 한 잔을 마시며
오랜 시간 이야기를 나누었습니다.

돌아보니 참 감사했습니다.

43년의 우정도 감사하고,
어려울 때마다 함께해 준
친구도 감사하고,

오늘 그 친구를
양원성당에서 다시 만나게 해주신
하느님께도 감사드립니다.

친구는 오랜 세월을
함께 걸어온 사람이고,

오늘은 제 신앙의 길에도
따뜻한 응원을 보내준
사람이 되었습니다.

오래된 우정에 감사하고,
새로운 신앙의 길에도 감사하며.

오늘도 사람과 사람 사이의 인연을
소중히 간직하겠습니다.

영광이 성부와 성자와 성령께.

43 Years of Friendship.

Forty-three years is truly a long and deeply meaningful journey.

I have a friend whom I first met when we were in the third grade of elementary school—
a friend who has remained faithfully by my side ever since.

More than in moments of joy,
this is the friend who always reached out to me first
whenever I was going through difficult times.

I am deeply grateful for such a friend.

And today, that friend came all the way to Yangwon Catholic Church, where I attend, to see me.

We walked around the church together,
and my friend warmly encouraged me
as I begin this new chapter of my life in faith.

We shared a delicious meal at a Dakhanmari restaurant near the church,
then enjoyed a refreshing drink and a cup of coffee
while talking for a long time about the years we have shared.

Looking back on today,
I feel truly grateful.

Grateful for 43 years of friendship.
Grateful for a friend who has always stood beside me in difficult times.

And above all,
I am grateful to God
for bringing us together again today
at Yangwon Catholic Church.

My friend is someone
who has walked alongside me for many years.

And today,
that friend has also become someone
who warmly supports me
on my new journey of faith.

I am grateful for an old friendship,
and I am grateful for this new path of faith.

Today, once again,
I will treasure the precious connections
that God has placed between people.

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit.
As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be,
world without end.
Amen.
