💬 Can getting skin treatments too often actually make you look older?

The treatments themselves don't necessarily cause aging.

However, repeating certain procedures too aggressively or without enough recovery time may lead to unwanted results.

Here are two treatments that require extra care.

① Ultherapy — Consider Facial Volume

Ultherapy uses focused ultrasound energy for skin lifting.

However, some facial fat, especially around the temples and outer cheeks, is important for maintaining natural facial volume.

Repeatedly treating these areas too aggressively may make the cheeks appear more hollow and the cheekbones more prominent.

Treatment planning should take your facial structure and fat distribution into account.

② Ablative Fractional Laser — Allow Enough Recovery Time

Ablative fractional laser can be effective for improving acne scars.

But repeating intensive treatments every two to four weeks before the skin has recovered may increase the risk of redness and post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation.

After an intensive treatment, a recovery interval of at least two to three months may be appropriate, depending on your skin condition.

With skin treatments, more frequent doesn't always mean better. The intensity and recovery interval matter, too.
