English : The same place can reveal a different landscape and take on new meaning when the light changes. Michiyuki Ishita explores how projection mapping and technology can uncover the memory and value of a place and create new experiences. Michiyuki Ishita is a creative director, visual artist, and spatial designer exploring how light can reveal hidden value in people, places, and communities.

Through large-scale light festivals, projection mapping projects, and immersive public events in Japan and internationally, he creates experiences that transform how people perceive familiar spaces. His work often focuses on revitalizing communities by illuminating stories, emotions, and local identities that might otherwise go unnoticed.

Blending art, technology, and human emotion, he continues to explore how visual experiences can reconnect people with wonder, memory, and a deeper sense of place. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
