Detective Docherty Sets Jacob Free | Reacher Season 4

Early in Reacher Season 4 Episode 7, "Vote for Sampson," Detective Shaun Docherty (Kevin Corrigan) is driving Jacob Merrick (Christopher Marquette) to lockup — after Jacob's own uncle handed him over. Instead, Docherty pulls into an alley, takes the cuffs off, and tells him to go. He worked it out: the man Reacher tangled with at the station had a tranquilizer gun and a key to Reacher's cell, and the people hunting them wanted Reacher gone for good. "What kind of cop do you think I am?" Docherty admits he almost turned the car around three times — and didn't, because his partner Tamara Green is the most stand-up cop he knows.
