Each year, The Genesis Facade Commission invites a globally known artist to create a site-specific installation for the niches of The Met’s iconic Fifth Avenue entrance.​

Opening this week, “Speculation” by Beijing-based artist Liu Wei invites us to consider the cycles of rupture and suture that have shaped individuals, cities and societies across time.​
