Why is Congress prioritizing hypersonics?

Reps. Mark Messmer and Frank Mrvan spoke with David Van Wie, director of the Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory (APL), at the Hopkins Bloomberg Center about their work on the Congressional Hypersonics Caucus, why the country is focused on building this critical capability now, and how research institutions are helping drive progress.

The conversation was part of The Bridge, a series by the Hopkins Bloomberg Center that invites bipartisan lawmakers to share how they’re working across the aisle to build a stronger America through practical policy solutions.
