■ About the Work
'Tap Baetnori' is one of Korea Tap Orchestra's signature repertoire works, presented as part of Asia Tap Vibe, the opening performance of the 2026 Seoul Tap Dance Festival.
The piece reimagines the traditional Korean folk song "Baetnorae" (Boat Song) through funky jazz rhythms and dynamic tap choreography, creating a vibrant dialogue between Korean tradition and contemporary tap dance. While the work is usually performed alongside traditional Korean musicians, this special performance features a tap dancer playing the kkwaenggwari (small Korean gong), creating an energetic rhythmic exchange between live percussion and tap. In the spirit of Asia Tap Vibe's international exchange, rising Japanese tap dancer Hana Eliza joins Korea Tap Orchestra as a guest performer, bringing a fresh artistic voice and energy to this special collaboration.

■ About the Show
Asia Tap Vibe is the opening performance of the 2026 Seoul Tap Dance Festival. The show was produced by YONO Company in cooperation with the Seoul Tap Dance Association.

This performance was presented in collaboration with Korea Tap Orchestra, a professional tap dance team dedicated to preserving and reinterpreting the cultural roots of tap dance. Blending jazz, classical music, traditional Korean music, and K-pop, the team has developed a distinctive Korean artistic voice through repertoire that bridges traditional Korean performing arts and contemporary tap dance. Through performances in Korea and abroad, Korea Tap Orchestra continues to expand the artistic possibilities of tap dance with a contemporary perspective.
