Donald Trump has brushed aside growing fears about rogue artificial intelligence, insisting he is not alarmed by the technology.
Asked about reports of autonomous AI systems behaving unpredictably, Trump responded bluntly: “I don’t worry about it.”
The president said the bigger danger would be allowing China to overtake the United States by slowing development with heavy regulation.
Trump claimed America remains roughly a year and a half ahead of China in AI and argued there was no reason to surrender that advantage.
His comments came ahead of a planned dinner with Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei, one of the industry’s most prominent voices warning about AI risks.
