Drew Lock delivered another legendary clutch performance off the bench as the Seattle Seahawks defeated the New England Patriots 13-10 in an insane comeback to open the 2026 NFL season. After starting quarterback Sam Darnold suffered a hip injury on Seattle’s opening drive, Lock was suddenly thrown into the NFL Kickoff Game spotlight and finished 16-of-22 for 187 passing yards, one touchdown and zero interceptions, helping the defending Super Bowl champions erase a 10-0 deficit. With Seattle needing a spark in the fourth quarter, Lock connected with Jaxon Smith-Njigba for a massive 45-yard touchdown on fourth down to tie the game before Jason Myers gave the Seahawks the lead. Seattle’s dominant defense took over from there, intercepting Patriots quarterback Drake Maye three times in the fourth quarter, with Josh Jobe sealing the victory with an interception in the end zone. On the same night Seattle raised its Super Bowl LX championship banner, the Seahawks beat New England again in a Super Bowl rematch and started their title defense 1-0.
