The Volvo EX60 is a practical, all-electric SUV with a range of over 500 miles. The thing is, though, the BMW iX3 has already been around for a while, also runs for over 500 miles on a single charge, and will cost you less than the Volvo!

But is the Volvo a better choice? Let’s get into it, starting with the design.

From the outside, the Volvo EX60 is one of the best-looking cars in its class. Up front, it has the traditional Thor hammer DRLs, with the main headlights housed separately underneath these. The centre of the front end is clean and well-designed, and thankfully, hides the driving sensors - unlike many other cars! Along the side, the design is clean, and the car we have here has a black pack, which means the windows have black surrounds - the standard car comes with silver instead. The rear of the car is very similar to the EX30 - but that’s no bad thing! It looks clean and smart.

The interior of the EX60 is seriously impressive. There are soft-touch materials throughout, and the seats are incredibly comfortable. The steering wheel comes in a design style different to any other car we’ve seen before, but the set-up makes it easy to see the digital dials. The infotainment screen is large and responsive, although it’s annoying that almost every function is housed within it. The gear selector is a stalk on the steering wheel, and there’s more than enough storage, even though there isn’t a traditional glove box.

The entry-level EX60 is the Plus P6, which comes with a single motor driving the rear wheels and 374bhp. The car we have here is the Ultra P10, which comes with dual motors and 510hp. The range-topper is the Ultra P12, which produces 680hp and hits 60mph in 3.9 seconds.

The entry-level EX60 costs from £56,860, while the range-topper costs £70,360. But is it the better choice than an iX3? Let us know which you’d choose in the comments!
