A: Hey Ryan. Would you take a look at this?

B: What is it?

A: I was hoping (maybe) you could tell me.

B: It looks like a memo.

A: Yeah, but look (at) what it says.

B: Is it from one of our neighbors?

A: I have no idea.

B: Did it come in the mail?

A: No. It was just left at our doorstep.

B: Was it in an envelope?

A: No. That’s how I found it. It was pinned under a rock. I’m assuming to keep it from blowing away.

B: Well, clearly, someone is messing with us.

A: You mean, like, a prank? Who would pull a prank like this?

B: Most likely some teenagers who think they’re being smart.
Relax. It’s just a prank.

A: That’s what I thought too at first.

B: What?

A: Actually, that’s not the only memo I’ve found.

B: There’s more?
A: I found this one (on) the night we moved in and this is from Thursday.

B: All at night?

A: Yeah. // Well, I found them all at night, but I suppose... they could’ve been left there earlier in the evening. And the one you’re holding, I found that last night.

B: So, that makes (a total of) three.
(……. total )

A: Yeah.

B: I wonder why I never ran into any of them.

A: Good point. Oh, you know what? That probably means, who ever it is // left the notes sometime between 7 and 9 in the evening.

B: Right. Otherwise, I would’ve seen one when I got back home. You found them all after 9?

A: Yeah, every time, when I was taking out the trash.
B: Why didn’t you tell me about this earlier?

A: Well, I was just like you. I thought it was just some prank. I didn’t want to worry you over nothing.

B: Hmm..

A: So, what are you thinking?


B: Well, I’m still thinking it’s a prank. Pretty harmless, so far at least. They’re just notes right? It’s not like they’re ding-dong ditching.

A: It IS kind of creepy though.

B: Yeah, I wonder if this qualifies as harassment.

A: Do you think we should talk to the police?

B: I guess it wouldn’t hurt to run it by them, but I doubt they’ll actively do anything about it.
